As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, the University offers sponsored places on three major leadership development programmes:
- Aurora: Women-only development initiative hosted by AdvancedHE, encouraging women in higher education to think of themselves as leaders and to develop leadership skills. Ideal for those with some managerial experience who are thinking about moving into leadership in the future. Open to colleagues in Grade 8 Professional/Managerial roles and up to/including Associate Professor. Applications close midday Friday 17 August – please download the Aurora guide (Word, 16.1KB) for full details.
- StellarHE: Development programme targeted at black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) individuals who aspire to senior leadership positions in higher education. It has been designed to develop and implement leadership strategies that reflect the unique challenges and experiences of BAME staff across the sector. Open to professional support staff, academics and researchers at middle to senior management level. The course will begin in December 2018 – further details will be shared in due course.
- Diversifying Leadership: Leadership Foundation programme aimed at early career academics and professional services staff from BAME backgrounds. Open to colleagues in roles up to Associate Professor and Grade 8 professional roles who are about to take their first step into applying for a senior role, or aspire to a leadership role. Dates are yet to be released, but likely to start in February 2019 – further details will be shared in due course.
We will share more information on each course over the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you have any queries, please contact Hannah Henretty.
