Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor Academic Planning & Resource
This advert is open only to internal candidates, and applicants will be required to submit a statement of interest and suitability (1000 words max) and an up to date CV by Tuesday 14 August.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Planning & Resource) will be responsible for ensuring the successful organisation and deployment of all academic staffing and resourcing across the University. They will be an integral part of the University Executive Board (UEB), sharing collective responsibility for leading and managing the University in an increasingly competitive and turbulent environment. Specifically, working in partnership with the University Secretary and Chief Strategy Officer, they will lead the planning process and co-chair the planning group.
They will act as line manager for all Heads of School (with ISLI continuing to report to the PVC for Global Engagement and the Dean of the Business School reporting to the Acting Vice-Chancellor). They will also line manage the Diversity and Inclusion Deans.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Planning & Resource) will also chair the risk management and health and safety and well-being committees. To support our work on Diversity and Inclusion they will chair the Diversity and Inclusion Board and the Athena Swan Implementation Group.
We are committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce and we welcome applications where a flexible working pattern and/or a job share is proposed. Job-share applications need not indicate who the other half might be, although coordinated applications from two separate members of staff are welcomed. In this instance, however, each candidate will be assessed on their own merit in terms of their suitability in fulfilling the requirements of the role.
