VC's farewell message for staff and students

Today is the last day of Sir David Bell as the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Colleagues are warmly invited to say farewell to the Vice-Chancellor on his last day at the University of Reading. The Museum of English Rural Life is hosting a farewell drinks reception for him from 17:00-19:00 today. If you are unable to attend, please do drop into the Vice-Chancellor’s office on the third floor of Whiteknights House between 11:30 and 14:30 on his final day to say goodbye. If you don’t have card access to the building, please come to the reception at the main entrance.
In a video message, Sir David Bell thanks staff and students for making his time here as happy and fulfilling.

Professor Robert Van de Noort will become acting Vice-Chancellor on 22 September until a new permanent Vice-Chancellor is appointed. Professor Gavin Brooks will become acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, in addition to his existing role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Teaching & Learning.
To cover many of the tasks currently undertaken by Robert in his substantive role, Professor Mark Fellowes has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic Planning & Resources.
